MEET…
LUNA VIGNI testimonial
“I had the good fortune to meet Sir James Galway and Lady Galway when I was very young and this meeting marked an important moment in my musical growth and career. The first time I attended the Galway Flute Festival in Weggis I was 11 years old and I felt like I was in wonderland. I knew Sir James from recordings and videos and seeing him and being able to learn from him personally was truly a milestone.
I have attended several editions of the Festival and each time I have brought something special with me, from the lectures to the concerts of the great masters, to the moments shared with my colleagues from all over the world. Throughout the years the Galway family has always followed and supported me, giving me endless opportunities for musical growth. I remember the concert at Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan where I had the chance to play before Sir James and Lady Galway, the concert at the KKL hall in Lucerne on the occasion of the Maestro's birthday and the Rising Star concert at the Galway Flute Festival as signs that came true.
Playing and sharing music with the flute legend was and is something priceless that I will always carry in my life baggage. His humanity, curiosity, experience and music allowed me to decide I wanted to be a musician and I will be forever grateful.”
